The Erg Chebbi is an impressive dune field stretching approximately 22 km from north to south and 5 km from east to west. The highest dune rises to 884 m in the north. Among the dunes, several oases offer a refreshing stop. A unique experience, this circuit will allow you to discover the beauty of the Sahara, the impressive landscapes of the Dadès and Todra gorges, as well as the cultural richness of the region. You’ll cross varied landscapes, from mountains to sand dunes, and discover the traditions and ways of life of the local populations.
Tour Plan
Departure from the airport, crossing the High Atlas mountains via Tizi N'Tichka (2260m altitude). Visit to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, then stop in Ouarzazate. Continue on the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs through Skoura, with a stop to see the beautiful Kasbah Amredhyle. Arrival at the Dadès Gorges in the evening, overnight stay at a hotel/kasbah.
Day 2: Dadès Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, continue on the road through the Dadès valley, then head towards the Todra Gorges. Lunch in a pleasant spot, then arrival in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Camel ride through the sea of dunes, overnight stay in a nomadic tent.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fez
Early wake-up for a camel ride and exceptional sunrise. Arrival at the hotel for refreshment and breakfast. Cross the city of Rissani and Tafilalet, the Ziz valley, and the Ziz gorges. Lunch in a local restaurant in the Middle Atlas mountains. Continue driving through cedar forests and arrival in Fez.
