Meet your Berber team (guide, cook and muleteers) and start your trek via the Tizi n Tinzert pass in the Ouirgane valley. Enjoy your stay in a comfortable guesthouse. On day 2, you’ll head to the Azzaden valley through numerous Berber villages to the village of Ait Aissa, where you’ll enjoy a hammam and an afternoon of relaxation on the rooftop terrace of the Azzaden Trekking Lodge. Day 3 will take you to the spectacular Imlil valley. This trek will allow you to discover the wonders of the Atlas mountains, its unique landscapes and rich cultures. You’ll have an unforgettable experience in one of the most beautiful places in Morocco.
You'll leave your vehicle on the road leading to Imlil at Imi Oughlad (1450m), where you'll meet your Berber muleteer and guide. Your first day will be an easier acclimatization hike in the Ouirgane national park. The terrain here is gentler, with copper-green soil and juniper trees, heading towards the village of Tinzert. Tinzert has a beautiful view of the Ouirgane valley, where you'll enjoy your first lunch in the Atlas mountains. The afternoon walk will take you through a large, small valley leading to the village of Marigha, through olive groves. Overnight stay at Ouirgane Ecolodge. 5-6 hours of walking.
After breakfast, you'll wind through olive groves and climb steadily towards the Azzaden valley. Breathtaking views unfold as you cross the valley. Your guide and cook will choose a picturesque spot to prepare a welcome lunch. After lunch, you'll follow the river course through the village, crossing several small traditional Berber villages before reaching Ait Aissa (1860m). Overnight stay at Azzaden Trekking Lodge. Approximately 5-6 hours of walking; 760m elevation gain.
Today, it's approximately 5-7 hours of walking. You'll climb back up the Azzaden valley through the village of Tizi Oussem, the summer village of Tamsoult, as a circuit via the largest waterfalls in the Toubkal national park. After visiting the falls, you'll join the path that will take you to the Ait Mizan valley via Tizi Mzzik, which is at 2500m and offers stunning views of the Imlil villages and the Atlas mountain range. The final leg of the journey will be the descent to Imlil before transferring back to Marrakech (5-6 hours of walking + 1.3 hours of driving).
