Trekking through Berber villages is an excellent way to discover local culture and way of life. Visitors can explore traditional architecture, meet friendly locals and learn more about Berber traditions and customs.
This trek will allow you to discover the wonders of the High Atlas mountains, its unique landscapes and rich cultures. You will have an unforgettable experience in one of the most beautiful places in Morocco.
After breakfast in Marrakech, departure to the High Atlas mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya and Asni. Enjoy the breathtaking view of villages along the way. Arrival in Imlil (65 km from Marrakech), meeting with the guide and muleteer, then start of the trek and ascent to Tizi Mzik pass (2684m). Spectacular view of the Imlil valley and the Toubkal summit. Continue to Tamsoulte to visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas mountains (100m high). Descent through the juniper forest to Tizi Oussem village. Overnight stay in a guesthouse in the village. 6 hours of walking.
After breakfast, enjoy the sun in this colorful valley and its wonderful Berber villages. Leave Tizi Oussem and continue down to Id Issa village, before climbing to Tizi Oudid pass (2000m). Cross the village of Matat after a wild juniper forest. Lunch under walnut trees and relax near the river. In the afternoon, transfer back to Marrakech (arrival around 5 pm). 5 hours of walking.
