Early departure from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate in a 4X4, passing through the famous Tichka Pass (2,260m), the highest mountain pass in Morocco. We descend into the Telouet valley for a visit to the Glaoui Pasha Kasbah and through the magnificent Ounila valley (beautiful villages, gorges, and troglodytes). Visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, then continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Walking time: 1 hour. Transfer time: 6 hours.
Drive towards the Valley of Roses via the Thousand Kasbahs route. We discover the superb villages of Keelaa Mgouna, the capital of roses. Walk in the Valley of Roses, then off-road to reach the Dades Valley, visit the gorges, and end our day in the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight at our accommodation in the Dades Gorges. Walking time: 2 hours, 30 minutes. Transfer time: 4 to 5 hours.
Drive towards the Saghro Massif, passing through the Tazazert pass (2200m), where we'll enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. Descent and discovery of other types of landscapes: volcanic rocks shaped like chimneys and valleys dotted with almond trees. Continue to the oasis of Nkob and the splendid Draa Valley, crossing a multitude of ksours and palm groves before arriving in Zagora, the capital of dates and henna. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Zagora. Walking time: 2 hours, 30 minutes. Transfer time: 5 hours.
After exploring the town of Tamgroute and its Quranic library, we'll cross the Bani range, the last mountain range. We'll be facing the vastness of the desert. Lunch at the eco-museum in the village of Ouled Driss. Then, we'll cross Regs and Ergs to reach the oasis of Oum Laalag (the sacred oasis). Arrival at the foot of the Chegaga dunes, the highest in the region, where we'll spend the night in nomadic tents. Walking time: 2 hours, 30 minutes. Transfer time: 4 hours.
We continue our journey north to rejoin the Anti-Atlas at Foum Zguit after traversing a beautiful track through the slopes of Bani and the large dried-up lake of Iriki. Along the paved road, we'll pass through a green valley. Lunch stop en route. Continue to Taznakht, the capital of Berber carpets, and then cross the Siroua massif to arrive in the late afternoon at our lodge or guesthouse at the foot of Siroua. Walking time: 2 hours. Transfer time: 6 hours.
We leave the heart of Siroua to go to Taliouine, the saffron capital. Then we descend onto the vast plain of Souss, known for its production of vegetables and citrus fruits. We cross the High Atlas via the Test Pass (2100m) and the beautiful Nfiss valley, with the possibility of visiting the old Tinmal mosque. Arrival in the ochre city towards the end of the afternoon and overnight in a Riad. Transfer time: 5 hours, 30 minutes.
