Description

Dreaming of roaming between land and sea with camels? Embark on a family hike on the Atlantic coast, between the first foothills of the Atlas planted with argan trees and the wild beaches of the Atlantic near Essaouira, with your feet in the water and camels carrying your luggage.

This family hike on the Moroccan Atlantic coast south of Essaouira is ideal for children and their parents.

Walking with your children along the Atlantic coast, following the rhythm of the tides and winds, means discovering very varied landscapes and atmospheres: fine sandy beaches, fishing villages, dazzling white marabouts, argan forests, limestone hills overlooking the ocean… Dunes too, as if the Sahara plunged into the ocean.

This family hike on the Atlantic coast is particularly pleasant in the summer, cooled by the trade winds and swimming in the ocean.

During your family hike along the beaches and dunes of the Atlantic, you will meet Berber tribes living in tiny fishing villages hidden in coves or on rocky plateaus dotted with argan trees, producing the famous argan oil, which is dipped with the bread of hospitality.

And at the end of the hike, spend free time with your children to discover Essaouira, the sublime Mogador. Exploring the alleys of the medina or lounging on the fine sandy beaches will delight the whole family. Not to mention the numerous sailing sports offered.

This family trip to the Moroccan Atlantic coast will delight teenagers and little ones alike. And for little legs, you can book a donkey during the hike. When there are animals, children love it!

The Atlantic coast near Essaouira is the ideal place for a summer trip to Morocco with the family.

ITINERARY:

Welcome to the airport and transfer to your hotel. Dinner on your own. Night at the *** hotel.

Departure towards the Atlantic coast to the fishing village of Tafedna, an old Portuguese anchorage nestled at the bottom of a creek with cliffs planted with argan trees. Installation in an inn and lunch. First walk on the immense beach along the coastal dunes. Over 4 km, the bay of Tafedna offers a sandy beach with typical fishermen's houses and many blue boats. The place is renowned for big-game fishing. Dinner and night in a lodge. 180 km/3 hours by road, 1 hour walk

Departure inland to discover a string of douars of the Berber tribe of Haha, through argan trees and barley fields. After lunch by a well to replenish our water supply, we will continue our walk on a well-marked trail along a cliff overlooking the ocean to reach the coast and set up our bivouac near the fishing village of Iften. You will see fishermen repairing nets and cleaning the engines of their blue boats, amidst traps, traps, and longlines. 4/5 hours of walking—Bivouac

We leave our small fishing village with its huts facing the sea, along the ocean from one headland to another, to the marabout of Sidi Mbarek, overlooking freshwater waterfalls. Once, this place was a stopover for caravans bringing goods purchased in Africa to the port of Essaouira. Before entering the city, the nomads stayed in quarantine around the waterfall, where fresh water, greenery, vegetable crops, and the sea provided them with the necessary food. The site is supplied all year round by a slight flow of water, coming from a source located 3 km upstream of the waterfalls. Lounging and swimming, but with caution because here, the beaches of the Atlantic are almost deserted and the ocean is often agitated. 4/5 hours of walking—Bivouac

We follow the coast along the large coastal dunes of Sidi Kaouki and its white marabout on the edge of the ocean to the hill of Iskoa, where we will settle in a cabin on stilts in the argan forest. Picnic. Country atmosphere, play area, pool to cool off. And animals for the great joy of children. Dinner and night in a lodge. 4/5 hours of walking – Bivouac

Road to Essaouira. Installation in your guest house located in the heart of the medina. Free lunch. Free time to discover the city, its port, its medina. Essaouira will charm you. Free dinner. Night 3 hours of walking – Accommodation: Riad

Free morning to discover Essaouira, its ramparts, its lively port, and its peaceful medina. Meals free Return to Marrakech in the early afternoon. Installation at your hotel. Night at the *** hotel. 180 km/3 hours Accommodation: *** hotel
